Summer School Attendance Policy

Students are allowed the following absences. Any additional absences will result in dropping the student from the course:

• 3-week course (5 hour class): One (1) absence 
• 6-week course (2.5 hour class): Two (2) absences 
• *Driver Education: Students are allowed one absence. After one absence, students will be dropped from the class and will not receive a refund. 

Parents/Guardians must notify the Summer School attendance office at 847-626-2007 or 847-626-2008 of their child’s absence the day before or on the morning of their absence.

Students are expected to arrive to their summer school classes on time. Students who are tardy must obtain an “admit” pass from the Summer School Office.

• 2 tardies (less than 15 minutes late) in one class count as a half-day absence from the class.
• Extended Tardy: If a student is more than 15 minutes late to a class, it counts as a half-day absence.

Students should also return to class on time from their daily breaks. Tardiness after break will also contribute to a student's total absences.
