E-Learning Plan

Any situation that makes a school building inhabitable and/ or transportation for buses and cars unsafe and/ or any other situation that the superintendent deems an emergency situation. This may include but not limited to, incremental weather. The district may use up to 5 emergency days per year.

Students will be required to check-in for attendance by logging into Canvas and clicking a prompt at the top of the screen. This will take students to Infinite Campus and they will complete a “self-certify” check in by 1:00pm.

Teachers and paraprofessionals are expected to be available throughout the day to meet virtually with students. Case managers and teachers (and/or paraprofessionals) will also be available to ensure specific needs with students and families are met. The HelpDesk will be available for remote assistance with technology.

Students who do not have high-speed Internet at home are eligible to check out a mobile hotspot through D219 at no charge and may keep the hotspot for the duration of the school year. Students are encouraged to pick up a hotspot at the beginning of the year or as soon as it is necessary in order to support on-going academic success. Please visit the Technology Service Center located in your building to reserve a mobile hotspot.

It is highly recommended that Parents and Guardians activate their Canvas Parent accounts. The Canvas Parent account creates an “observer” role with the child’s Canvas courses. The observer role gives parents and guardians the ability to view assignments, grades and set up notifications and alerts.
