Distinguished Alumni Awards
From the personal to the professional, in their vocations and avocations, and through leadership, service, creativity and courage, our alumni make a difference. Each year, Niles North and Niles West recognize a past graduate for accomplishments in their field and contributions to society. Award recipients are invited to the spring award ceremonies, where they will receive their plaque and share remarks about their achievements and experiences as students. The award ceremonies also include student recognition and accomplishments for the current school years in areas of athletics, scholarship and community engagement.

Distinguished Alumni Award Criteria
Distinguished Alumni Awards are selected through a nomination process involving all registered D219 Alumni.
Previous nominations are taken into consideration each year.
The final selection is made by the Associated Student Bodies at Niles North and Niles West under the supervision of
their sponsors and the Student Activities Directors, based on the following criteria:
- Graduated from Niles North, Niles West, Niles East, Niles Central or Bridges
- Attended at least three years at a District 219 high school
- Has made a significant contribution to his or her field and/or in the community
- Had a meaningful experience as a D219 student
