Distinguished Alumni Awards
From the personal to the professional, in their vocations and avocations, and through leadership, service, creativity and courage, our alumni make a difference. Each year, Niles North and Niles West recognize a past graduate for accomplishments in their field and contributions to society. Awards are presented at school ceremonies in May.

Distinguished Alumni Award Criteria
Distinguished Alumni Awards are selected through a nomination process. Previous nominations are taken into consideration each year.
The selection is made by a committee of current Niles North and Niles West students and members of the Education Foundation,
based on the following criteria:
- Graduated from Niles North or Niles West
- Attended at least three years of high school at a District 219 high school (this can also include Niles East)
- Has made a significant contribution to his or her field and/or in the community
- Had a meaningful experience as a D219 student
