Niles West Students Achieve Bid in Debate Tournament
Congratulations to Ammara Vadiwala (Junior) and Ellie Kim (Junior) for earning their first bid to the University of Kentucky’s Tournament of Champions, a leading national championship tournament for debate.
The team recorded five wins and one loss in the preliminary rounds. They defeated Notre Dame High School from Los Angeles, California, in the round of 16, advancing to the quarterfinals. They lost to Rowland Hall from Salt Lake City, Utah, who became the eventual champions.
