Niles North Students Lead Fundraiser to Support Local Families

Students in the Niles North Life Skills Program organized a meal kit fundraiser to support the Niles Township Food Pantry in December 2025. Through donations from families, school clubs, and Viking Brews sales, students raised more than $1,200. The funds were used to purchase food and assemble 100 meal kits, which will help provide meals for approximately 600 people.

Niles North teacher Erin Dailey worked with students in the Vocational Awareness, Community Studies and Math class to lead all parts of the project. Students organized donations, shopped for supplies, assembled the meal kits, and delivered them to the food pantry.

“This project allowed our students to work on skills such as budgeting, following directions, utilizing transportation, sorting, multi-step tasks, packing and most importantly, giving back to the community,” remarked Dailey.
