Niles North DECA Students Excel at Regional, State, and International Levels

After several competitive events during second semester, Niles North students have excelled in their DECA events. DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) is a nationwide organization that prepares high school students for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management through competitive events and leadership development.

More than 1,800 students competed in role-play events at the North Suburban Regional DECA Conference in January. Niles North students earned multiple medals in Career Cluster Testing and Role Play Presentations, with 65 students qualifying for the Illinois State Career Development Conference in March.

At the state competition, Niles North DECA members demonstrated their skills in written and interactive events, winning eight state championships. The state champions are Natalie Ng, Ridha Anarwala, Uruj Hazara, Avery Ermel, Nikolas Sikoral, Chris Gavrilas, Jack Jaminski, and Sam Dababneh. In total, 23 students qualified for the DECA International Career Development Conference in April.

The international competition will take place in Orlando, Florida, from April 25-30, with over 21,000 students from around the world competing.
