Niles North students Lenn Piatek and Minha Lockett won the Junior Varsity division at the University of Michigan's national debate tournament, held from November 7-9, 2025. The tournament included 40 competitors from seven states and took place in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The event was part of the University of Michigan’s annual high school debate series, which featured Policy, Public Forum, and Lincoln-Douglas divisions.
