Lauren Velazquez, debate coach at Niles North, received the Outstanding Service award from the Illinois Debate Coaches Association (IDCA). She was recognized at the IDCA Varsity State Tournament in March 2025.

Velasquez, a Niles North Social Studies teacher, is congratulated for her work with the debate team and her contributions to the debate program. Students who are interested in the debate team can contact the Niles North Student Activities Office.
