D219 Students Send Seasonal Cheer through Local Card Drive
Students from Niles Township District 219 participated in a Holiday Card Drive, coordinated through state legislator offices, to brighten the winter season for senior citizens in the community. More than 100 cards from D219 will be distributed to senior centers and nursing homes in the area during the month of December.
Digital media interns at D219, representing grades 10-12 at Niles West and Niles North, created cards with original designs for the local project. Students from Niles Central High School and the Bridges Adult Transition Center personalized the cards, adding messages and artwork to help bring smiles and warm wishes to seniors.
The completed cards were collected by the offices of State Senator Ram Villivalam, State Representatives Kevin Olickal and Mike Kelly who partner with school districts and distribute the cards.
