D219 Robotics Teams Qualify for World Championship
Students from Niles North and Niles West High Schools earned multiple awards at the 2026 Illinois VEX V5 Robotics Competition High School State Championship on March 14.
Niles West received the Excellence Award, which recognizes overall performance in robot design, programming and teamwork. Teams from both Niles West and Niles North were also named Tournament Champions, qualifying them for the VEX Robotics World Championship.
The world championship will take place April 21-24, 2026, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the America’s Center Convention Complex. The event will bring together top high school robotics teams from around the world to showcase skills in engineering, strategy and teamwork.
