Niles Township High School District 219 received the highest recognition in state and local government accounting — the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) in 2026. 

The GFOA award goes beyond basic compliance standards by evaluating financial transparency and effective communication with everyday audiences. In addition to meeting strict requirements when preparing its annual comprehensive financial report, D219 met comprehensive criteria reviewed by experts in public sector financial reporting.

“Earning the GFOA award reaffirms our commitment to our students and families, ensuring our community has access to financial information they can trust and understand,” stated Roszena Haskins, D219 Deputy Superintendent. “We are proud that our business team, administration and board uphold the highest standards in financial reporting.”

D219 also received the Meritorious Budget Award from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) for the 2025-26 fiscal year.
