Brent Novoselsky Named 2025 Niles North Distinguished Alumnus

Niles North High School named Brent Novoselsky, Class of 1984, as the recipient of its 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award. Novoselsky was honored at the Niles North Awards of Distinction Program on May 15, 2025.

During his high school years, Novoselsky earned all-conference titles in both football and baseball, was a National Honor Society member and graduated in the top 5% of his class. Following high school, he attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he played football and earned an Economics degree with honors from the Wharton School of Business. He went on to play seven seasons in the NFL, beginning with the Chicago Bears in 1988 and later with the Minnesota Vikings.

In his recorded acceptance speech, Novoselsky reflected on his time at Niles North as more than just classrooms and practice fields. “The school…shaped my life. It taught me discipline, helped me forge lifelong friendships, and laid the foundation for everything that followed,” he said. He attributes the lifelong connections with teachers and coaches as a significant influence on his life to this day.

His message to the Niles North Class of 2025 and the students being honored: “You may not know where you're headed, but if you give your best every day—whether in class, on the field, or in relationships—it will make a difference. The habits you build now will become the foundation of your future success.”

For over three decades, Novoselsky has worked as a financial advisor and consultant. Known for his commitment to community service, Novoselsky continues to give back through various charitable efforts. He resides in the Chicago suburbs with his wife, Anne, and their three children.
