Niles North Debate Team Earns Awards at Michigan Tournament
The Niles North Debate Team participated in the 2024 University of Michigan High School Debate Tournament on November 9. The competition featured over 100 teams from 12 states.
Seniors Kailey Cabrera, Will Serban, Saad Khan, and Raman Mazhankou earned the Double Octa Finalist Awards. Sophomores Kiswa Karim and Sam McLaughlin advanced to the quarter-finals in their division. Freshmen debaters Lenn Piatek and Minha Lockett moved on to the Octa finals, with Piatek recognized as the 1st speaker overall.
