Matthew Krueger Named Dean at Niles North High School

Matthew Krueger has been named a Dean at Niles North High School, starting July 2024. The Niles Township High School Board of Education approved his appointment at their July 9, 2024 meeting.

Matthew joins the Niles North community with over 12 years of experience in the classroom. Most recently he served the Washington Elementary School community in Evanston-Skokie School District 65 as a third grade teacher in a co-taught inclusive classroom. Prior to serving Washington Elementary, Matthew also worked as a classroom teacher at Oakton Elementary in Evanston. He has extensive experience in building genuine relationships with all community stakeholders, culture and climate work, restorative practices, analyzing and improving Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports and instructional leadership. He strongly believes in loving accountability and supporting all students in emerging as the very best versions of themselves. 

Matthew received his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with endorsements in Language Arts, Mathematics, and Middle School Education from Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership with a Principal Endorsement, also at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago.

In addition to dedicating his career to the students and families he serves, Matthew is a devoted father and husband. He loves spending time with his wife Daisy, son Gavin, and daughter Olivia. He enjoys coaching and supporting Gavin and Olivia in their various sports and activities. They all enjoy taking road trips, going on walks, playing outside and cooking dinner together. Matthew enjoys meeting new people and hearing their stories that make them who they are. He looks forward to connecting with students, staff and the Niles North community as he emerges in his new role as Dean of Students.
