District 219 named the Safety and Security Supervisors for Niles North High School and Niles West High School, starting June 9, 2025. The Niles Township High School Board of Education approved the appointment of Annette Baker (Niles West) and Joseph Marzigliano (Niles North) at their May 6, 2025 meeting.

Annette Baker is an experienced district employee and has worked in the Safety Department at Niles West for the past 15 years, serving in a lead role since 2023. Prior to coming to D219, Annette worked in public transportation for a bus company.

Annette works closely with Safety team members to help ensure a safe learning environment for all students and staff. Annette is known for her friendly, approachable and collaborative qualities. In addition to strong interpersonal skills, she has a deep understanding of the Niles West school culture and appreciates working with students.

Annette loves spending time with family, including two children and five grandchildren. In her spare time, she also enjoys listening to smooth jazz and taking long motorcycle rides on Chicago's DuSable Lake Shore Drive. 

Joseph Marzigliano brings years of experience in public safety and crime prevention, including roles as a Crime Prevention Specialist and Neighborhood Integrity Officer for the Skokie Police Department.

Joe has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Sociology from Elmhurst University. He is certified in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) by the University of Louisville and is a certified Juvenile Officer through NEMART.

Throughout his career, Joe has worked closely with District 219 staff and other local school districts. As a former Skokie Police Explorer supervisor, he has enjoyed mentoring youth in the community. He is excited to continue that work in his new role and help maintain a safe and supportive environment for Niles North students and staff.

Outside of work, Joe enjoys golfing, fishing with friends, and spending quality time with his family.
