District 219 named Kevin Ryan as the Safety Supervisor at Niles West High School, starting July 1, 2026. The Niles Township High School Board of Education approved the appointment at their June 9, 2026 meeting.

Kevin has a passion for school safety and making sure every student and staff member feels safe within the school community. He served as the School Resource Officer at Maine East High School for 16 years. He was also a police officer in Park Ridge for 27 years.

Kevin holds a Bachelor's Degree from Benedictine University. He received a Superintendent Award for exemplary service to students in need and also earned Officers of the Year Award from the Chief of Police, for outstanding service to the community. 

Kevin also has a background in coaching and takes great satisfaction when he sees students achieving their goals and being successful. He loves working in diverse environments like Niles West. 

Kevin enjoys working out and martial arts. He has a cold plunge at home that he uses everyday. He also enjoys spending time with family and traveling.
