District 219 named Munirah Bolis as the Assistant Director of Student Services at Niles North High School, starting July 1, 2026. The Niles Township High School Board of Education approved the appointment at their April 7, 2026 meeting.

Munirah brings a career shaped by intentional pivots and a deep commitment to building systems that work for every student. She most recently served as Director of Student Services at Evanston Township High School District 202. Earlier in her career, she spent several years in operations leadership, directing large-scale events and managing multimillion-dollar budgets before making a deliberate pivot back to education — experience that continues to inform her systems thinking and organizational approach today.
Munirah holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Illinois State University, a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in School Psychology from Florida International University. She completed her Principal Preparation Program at Concordia University Chicago in 2025 and fulfilled all requirements for her Licensed Professional Counselor licensure in 2026.
At the heart of her work is a belief that student services must center the students most often left behind by the systems designed to support them. That commitment is deeply personal: as a mother and someone with family members supported through special education, she brings both professional expertise and lived understanding to every framework she builds.
Outside of work, Munirah enjoys linocut printmaking, digital illustration and bike rides along the Skokie Valley Trail. She lives in Skokie with her family and looks forward to joining District 219.
