District 219 named Megan Williams as the Director of Counseling, starting July 1, 2026. The Niles Township High School Board of Education approved the appointment at their April 7, 2026 meeting.

Megan has a deep respect for the impact school counselors have on student success. As a former school counselor, she brings a strong understanding of the role at both a building level and systems level, and she is keenly aware of how the role plays a critical part in student learning and well-being. An experienced building leader, Megan has implemented structures to help build collaboration and shared accountability across departments. She is excited to take this natural next step into leading counseling departments to provide cohesive, equitable counseling practices.
Megan most recently served as an assistant principal at Quincy Senior High School. She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, a Master’s degree in Human Development Counseling, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She is also a certified teacher evaluator.
Megan is originally from Centralia, IL and she is the youngest of five children. She comes from a basketball family and was “raised in a basketball arena” for the majority of her adolescence, proudly stating that “March Madness is our favorite holiday.”
