Alexis Matesi has been named the Director of Professional Learning and Staff Development starting July 10, 2024. The Niles Township High School Board of Education approved her appointment at their July 9, 2024 meeting.

Alexis has served in several roles at District 219 since 2013. She has been an English and reading teacher at Niles West for the majority of her career and has also been a literacy coach for seven years. She has served on PDSI (Professional Development for School Improvement) for the past five years. Her love for curriculum and instruction, and student success drives her purpose and intention as an educator.

Alexis is excited to bring her expertise to a new role at District 219 where she hopes to utilize professional learning to positively impact student outcomes. As a graduate of Niles North, she feels so privileged to be able to continue to give back to the community that has shaped her. 

Alexis Matesi holds Bachelors in English and Education, and a minor in teaching reading. She has a MEd in Curriculum and Instruction, and is working to finish her EdD in Curriculum, Cultures, and Communities at Loyola University Chicago.
