Special Education Overview

District 219 is dedicated to fostering an equitable learning environment that embraces diversity and supports the unique needs of every student. Every student has the opportunity to participate in meaningful and diverse learning experiences, activities, and environments, including general education curriculum, clubs, sports and other extracurricular options. Our continuum of services supports students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) throughout their high school journey.

 

Continuum of Services

District 219 offers a comprehensive continuum of special education and related services, ensuring all students with disabilities receive a
Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).

Special Education Programs at D219 Schools

Bridges Adult Transition Center provides services for students ages 18–22 with IEPs, focusing on employment, further education/training, and independent living skills.
