Equity
District 219's Equity Department works to ensure the conscious, deliberate and strategic focus on addressing academic success for all of our students.
The Equity team has close collaborations with individuals and groups at district and school levels to reach our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) goals. The department works with AVID coordinators at D219 schools, oversees the Family Liaisons program, and coordinates professional learning and development opportunities for staff. These opportunities include: anti-bias facilitation, Beyond Diversity, training, Microaggression Awareness campaigns, and Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity (SEED) seminars.
D219 is also a member of the Multicultural Student Achievement Network (MSAN). The nonprofit group is a national coalition of multiracial school districts learning, growing, and working together toward the goal of improving access, opportunity, and achievement for students of color.
